Looking to upgrade your 7.3 Power Stroke IDM's power output? This can be done at home with relatively basic electronics knowledge and mid-range tools.
By modifying the original board by installing a different resistor, you can increase your output voltage to 140V and get the most out of your other modifications! Be aware that this does not increase your IDM output, as DTC can do with their HVHO IDM service.
IDM models IDM-100 and IDM-110 use the same resistor, whereas IDM-120 models use one with slightly lower resistance. We use anti-surge Panasonic SMD resistors instead of the easier-to-find DIP resistors that look sloppy on an otherwise clean PCB.
Install instructions are available under our "instructions" menu.
This is not a task recommended for those who have never modified, repaired, or built a PCB.
